The UK competition regulator is investigating HPE’s proposed $14 billion purchase of Juniper Networks following a lawsuit from some shareholders claiming important information was withheld. The Competition and Markets Authority is seeking comments on the potential impact the acquisition may have on competition in the UK market. HPE expects the deal to double its networking business and contribute significantly to its revenue. This is not the first time HPE has acquired networking companies, with previous purchases including Aruba and 3Com. The CMA has until August 14 to decide whether to proceed to a phase two investigation, potentially delaying the deal’s completion.
