Clubhouse is now officially available in the beta version for Android. However, it currently only remains available in the US before being released and released worldwide.


[Update 05/21]: Clubhouse is now available to Android users worldwide. You no longer need to pre-register for the app to work on your device. The app list also says that Clubhouse is in Early Access or Beta on Android. However, this may change in the coming days.


During one of the weekly “Town Hall” meetings of the apps – and afterwards blog entry – The rollout was confirmed with some additional information that was released during the global rollout of the Breakout iOS app for 2020.

While almost every other major social media platform has rolled out clubhouse-like drop-in, drop-out voice chat capabilities, the app has been eagerly anticipated on Android – despite the recent drop in download numbers on iOS.

As mentioned earlier, Clubhouse on Android is arriving in beta first in the US. Further rollouts will begin in other English-speaking regions in the coming weeks. However, no nations were confirmed. It would be fairly safe to assume that the UK, Australia, the Republic of Ireland and New Zealand will be among the proposed “English speaking countries”:

Today we are happy to announce that Clubhouse for Android is now available in beta. We will gradually start with the US today, followed by other English-speaking countries and the rest of the world.

This US-only early beta will be followed by a fully stable Android version after the development team collects “community feedback”. Features like “Payments and Club Creation” will also be integrated before the fuller version. No further information was shared on the timeline for the additional additions.

Android users in the US can download the Clubhouse Beta over the Internet Google Play StorePeople in other regions can pre-register to be notified when it becomes available in your region.

To update: The US restriction can be overcome by loading the Clubhouse APK from the site in regions where the app is not yet available. This allows you to reserve your username and join the waiting list for an invitation. If you already have an account, you can sign in and enjoy a crazy chat.
