The cloud infrastructure continues to gain global importance after the pandemic. Canalys reports a significant increase in spending on cloud computing.
Spending on global cloud infrastructure services rose 35% to $ 41.8 billion in the first quarter of 2021, according to the analyst firm, as emerging technologies – including machine learning, data analysis, application migration, and cloud-native development – proliferated.
This is the first time global cloud infrastructure spending has exceeded $ 40 billion. The grand total for the first quarter of 2021 was nearly $ 11 billion higher than the same period last year and $ 2 billion higher than the fourth quarter of 2020, Canalys says.
