What is cloud computing

  • When you can access software or files over the Internet because they are not computed and stored on your PC or hard drive on servers in data centers
  • Ex: Google Drive, Instagram, Gmail, Netflix

  • When the internet was born 1983it was presented as a squiggly and bloated encompassing entity that passes information across devices

  • E.g.: Slack, Instacart, Netflix, Outlook

2. Platform as a Service (PaaS)

  • You pay for developer tools (operating systems, database management) to build, test and deploy your app
  • E.g.: Salesforce Heroku, Red Hat…
