Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware has been met with criticism as the company’s strategy appears to focus on losing most of VMware‘s customers while retaining the largest ones for profitability. Mark Boost, CEO of Civo, expressed concerns about Broadcom’s intentions in an interview, highlighting that the company seems to prioritize around 600 accounts and is willing to sacrifice a significant number of customers. According to Boost, there are reports of forced bundle pricing leading to price increases of up to 10 times, with customers voicing their dissatisfaction over significant price hikes. It remains to be seen if Broadcom can navigate its way out of this situation, but Boost believes that much of this outcome may be deliberate on Broadcom’s part.
