When Mike Beary returned to Ireland in 2017 after 25 years in America, he was impressed by how poorly people here understood Amazon Web Services (AWS), even though there were 1,000 employees at the time. “People haven’t really understood who we are or what we do,” said Beary, country manager at AWS Ireland. It is fair to say that there are many who still do not.
One reason for this could be Amazon’s reluctance to give press interviews. “As an organization, it is our general preference that our customers speak for us,” says Beary.
