Claude’s Code: Anthropic releases source code for an AI software engineering tool

Anthropic accidentally released some of the internal source code for its AI-powered coding assistant Claude Code due to “human error,” the company said on Tuesday.

An internal use file that was mistakenly included in a software update referenced an archive of nearly 2,000 files and 500,000 lines of code that were quickly copied to the developer platform GitHub. A post on Anthropic has filed copyright takedown requests to curb the spread of the code. Within the code, users discovered blueprints for a Tamagotchi-like coding assistant and an always-on AI agent, according to the Verge.
