Citrix Introduces CloudGateway 2

Citrix has just released Citrix Cloud Gateway 2, which now includes the new MDX mobile experience technology. This update provides centralized management, security, and control over native iOS, Android, and HTML 5 applications. The MDX technology consists of four main components: App Vault, Web Connect, Micro VPN, and policy orchestration, offering granular policy-based control over mobile applications.

In addition to supporting native mobile applications through MDX, CloudGateway also integrates with Citrix ShareFile. This integration allows employees to access files on any device they choose, with seamless role-based management. As corporate employees increasingly use multiple devices and mobile apps, the traditional approach of managing a single corporate device is becoming less common.

A recent Citrix study revealed that many enterprises now support a variety of Windows, web, and mobile applications. This shift is prompting companies to rethink their enterprise mobility strategies, focusing on controlling applications and data rather than the device itself. According to Sumit Dhawan, the group vice president and general manager of receivers and gateways at Citrix, BYO and mobile work styles are becoming more prevalent, driving the need for businesses to manage apps and data rather than just devices.

The MDX technology on CloudGateway offers a solution that securely manages applications and data, allowing users to maintain device freedom. By combining CloudGateway, Citrix Receiver, and ShareFile, businesses can effectively support a mobile workforce while maintaining security and control.

Overall, the release of Citrix Cloud Gateway 2 with MDX technology provides companies with an end-to-end solution for managing mobile applications and data. As the trend towards BYO and mobile work styles continues to grow, it is essential for businesses to adapt their enterprise mobility strategies to meet the evolving needs of their employees and maintain security and control over corporate applications and data.
