Cisco partners with HTX to Pilot 5G and AI Technologies for Improved Homeland Security

Cisco and HTX of Singapore have joined forces through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration will focus on the research and development of 5G and AI technologies to enhance public safety, security, and network operations in Singapore. The signing ceremony took place at Cisco Global Headquarters in San Jose, United States, with HTX CEO Mr. Chan Tsan and Cisco Networking Executive Vice President Mr. Jonathan Davidson putting pen to paper on the agreement.

The main objective of this partnership is to pilot 5G and AI technologies in order to bolster Singapore’s national security efforts. Both organizations are geared towards enhancing HTX’s capabilities in the realms of 5G and AI to keep up with the evolving threats to public safety in Singapore. Cisco’s 5G-as-a-Service solution will be at the forefront of developing and testing various 5G proofs of concept to elevate public safety measures in the country. Additionally, the collaboration will involve innovating on AI security operations by building a custom network and security operations platform (AISecOps) to better address advanced cyber threats.

Under Cisco’s National Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, HTX is the first organization in Singapore to sign an MoU with Cisco. This program aims to drive digitalization on a global scale and Cisco is working with governments worldwide to accelerate their national digitalization agendas, create new jobs, boost GDP growth, and foster innovation ecosystems.
