Canadian exploration company Q2 Metals has made significant progress in expanding the mineralized zone at its Cisco lithium property in the James Bay region of Eeyou Istchee in Quebec. Through drilling efforts, the company has extended the discovery zone to 750 meters and intersected 39 intervals of spodumene pegmatite, a key source of lithium. The drilling program, which began in May, has been successful in identifying mineralized pegmatite in every hole drilled, showcasing the potential for Cisco to become a significant deposit.
Neil McCallum, Vice President of Exploration at Q2 Metals, expressed optimism about the ongoing drilling program and the company’s focus on confirming and expanding the CO1 mineralized zone. Recent drilling results have shown nearly 200 meters of spodumene pegmatite in one well, with plans to continue drilling towards the CO3 zone to further delineate the mineralization between the two zones.
The exploration efforts at the Cisco property are part of a larger strategy to test the mineralization in various zones, including the CO2 outcrop area located east of the CO1 zone. The property, which covers 11,374 hectares and is situated along the Frotet Evans greenstone belt of the James Bay South Lithium District, has the potential to host a significant lithium deposit similar to other deposits in the region.
Q2 Metals aims to continue expanding its understanding of the mineralization at Cisco through further drilling and exploration activities. The company’s recent success in intersecting spodumene pegmatite in multiple drill holes highlights the promising nature of the project and its potential to contribute to Canada’s lithium sector. With mineralization remaining open in all directions along strike and at depth, Q2 Metals is well-positioned to unlock the full potential of the Cisco property and establish it as a valuable asset in the region.
Overall, the progress made by Q2 Metals at the Cisco lithium property underscores the company’s commitment to advancing its exploration projects and discovering new sources of critical minerals. As the demand for lithium continues to rise globally, Q2 Metals’ efforts to expand the mineralized zone at Cisco are poised to play a key role in meeting the growing need for this essential element in the green energy sector.
