Cisco Operating Systems has been recognized for its efforts to improve inclusion and belonging for its LGBTQ+ employees. The company received a rating of 78% in the Pride in the Workplace Impact Awards 2023, making it an ambassador success company with one of the most improved ratings among hundreds of companies. Pride in Work, based in the Netherlands, aims to drive LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace by providing measurement, research, and networking opportunities. Cisco’s 78% rating is the highest it has ever received in the 10 years of participating in the Global Benchmark, and the company is among only 11 companies recognized at the Ambassador level.

Some of the activities that contributed to this achievement include visible support from Cisco leadership, the LGBTQ+ Social Justice Fund, the launch of Pronouns on the Cisco Employee Central Directory, the Cisco Self-ID program, and Gender Affirmation policies. These achievements were made possible by the tireless work of the Global Pride Inclusive Community, sponsors, the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and many other teams and individuals at Cisco who drive LGBTQ+ employee inclusion every day.

The Pride Inclusive Community in the Netherlands partnered with Workplace Pride to assess Cisco’s performance and provide recommendations for continual improvement in LGBTQ+ inclusion. Jack Naidoo, Director of People and Communities, accepted the award on behalf of Cisco and emphasized the importance of inclusion in improving engagement and performance. He highlighted the impact of Cisco’s inclusive communities in driving a better future for the company and the industry as a whole.

Overall, Cisco’s recognition in the Pride in the Workplace Impact Awards reflects its commitment to creating a more inclusive environment for all of its employees, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. This achievement demonstrates the positive impact of collaboration and allyship within the organization, and sets a strong example for other companies to follow in promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace.
