NEW DELHI: The Centre for e-Governance (CeG) has attracted allegations of irregularities and potential favoritism by tailoring specifications that suit a single original equipment manufacturer (OEM) – American Cisco Systems – for the Karnataka State Wide Area Network (KSWAN) upgrade programme, according to a report by The New Indian Express published on Friday.
CeG is an autonomous and independent body established for conceptualising, implementing, and monitoring various e-Governance initiatives in Karnataka, including the ambitious state-wide connectivity project.
The point of contention is centred on a CeG tender issued on July 11, 2025, and its subsequent re-issue.
