Cisco and HTX have announced a partnership to pilot 5G and AI technologies in a bid to enhance Singapore’s national security. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by HTX CEO Chan Tsan and Cisco Networking Executive Vice President and General Manager Jonathan Davidson at Cisco’s headquarters in San Jose, United States.

The collaboration between the two organizations will focus on projects aimed at boosting HTX’s capabilities in 5G and AI, with the goal of addressing evolving threats to public safety in Singapore. Specifically, they will work together to leverage Cisco’s 5G-as-a-Service solution to create and test various 5G proofs of concept that will enhance public safety measures in the country.

In addition, both parties will collaborate on developing a custom 5G security system, as well as a security and network operations platform (AISecOps) that will be hosted on-premises alongside HTX domain data. This platform will utilize generative AI to help HTX identify and combat advanced cyber threats more effectively.

HTX is the first organization in Singapore to sign an MOU under Cisco’s National Digital Acceleration (CDA) programme, highlighting the significance of this partnership in driving digital innovation in the country’s security sector. Through this collaboration, HTX will have access to cutting-edge technologies and expertise from Cisco to strengthen its defense against cybersecurity threats and enhance public safety measures.

Overall, the partnership between Cisco and HTX represents a significant step forward in Singapore’s efforts to leverage advanced technologies such as 5G and AI to bolster its national security infrastructure and protect its citizens from evolving threats. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the ongoing digital transformation of Singapore’s security landscape, setting a precedent for future partnerships between public and private sector entities in advancing the country’s security capabilities.
