Cisco and Singapore’s National Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) have partnered to enhance national security through testing 5G and AI technologies. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed at Cisco Global Headquarters in San Jose, by HTX CEO Chan Tsan and Cisco Executive Vice President and General Manager Jonathan Davidson. The collaboration aims to improve HTX’s capabilities in responding to evolving threats to public safety in Singapore.

The agreement will involve developing and testing different 5G proofs of concept using Cisco’s 5G-as-a-Service solution. Additionally, both parties will work together on security operations with AI, such as creating a custom network and security operations platform (AISecOps) hosted on-premises using HTX’s data. This initiative will enable HTX to utilize generative AI (GenAI) to detect and counter advanced cyber threats.

HTX is the first Singaporean organization to sign an MOU under Cisco’s National Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, part of Cisco’s efforts to drive global digitalization. Cisco has been collaborating with governments in 50 countries to support their digitalization goals, develop solutions, and offer beneficial services to their citizens. The company’s CDA programs have contributed to job creation, GDP growth, and the advancement of innovation ecosystems.
