Cisco has been busy making acquisitions this week, and today the company announced that it is buying the Kenna Security threat assessment platform, the third company it bought this week. The two companies have not announced the purchase price.

With Kenna, Cisco has a startup that uses machine learning to sort the huge pile of threat intelligence that enters a security system every day and prioritize the threats that are most likely to cause the greatest damage. This could be a very useful tool these days when there are a lot of threats and it is not always easy to know where to put your limited security resources. Cisco plans to use this technology and integrate it into its SecureX platform.
