Mel Clarke: China is fully committed to artificial intelligence and wants to integrate it into 90% of its economy in the next five years. It was a central theme at the heavily choreographed National People’s Congress, which ended overnight. In addition to AI, China plans to become as self-sufficient as possible with a strong push toward renewable energy. Angus Randall reports.

At the annual meeting of the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, known as the Two Sessions, hundreds of delegates gathered in Beijing for a week of wide-ranging speeches and media conferences as the ruling Communist Party approves policies for the next five years.
