AI search is now influencing the way Australians find brands. The effect is small, but it grows quickly and does not look the same for every company.
We examined 115 Australian companies from September 2024 to September 2025 (inclusive) and measured AI-related visits from platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. It’s important to note that this was before AI Mode was released in Australia.
The growth is obvious, but it still varies widely between the sites in our sample. Some sites are now seeing regular AI visits, while others are seeing just a trickle. Results are presented to reflect the typical site experience and potentially avoid outlier noise.
E-commerce companies experience increasing visit volume but weaker funnel performance than organic companies. The Add to Cart and Purchase prices are lower and the average order value is slightly lower.
