Charlotte Student Takes Top Prize in State Doodle for Google Competition

Leeann Manring, a student from Creek Wood High School, has been selected as one of 55 state and territory winners of the Doodle for Google contest. The competition, which began in January, asked students to express their wish for the next 25 years through art. Google is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2024, and this is the 16th annual Doodle for Google contest.

Manring’s wish for the next 25 years is for the Earth to become a better place by saving trees, protecting endangered animals, and ensuring shelters are empty of euthanized animals. The contest features state and territory winners from across the country, and the national winner will be determined by public voting, which ends on June 4.

To see all the state and territory winners and vote for your favorite Doodle, visit the Doodle for Google website. The winner with the most votes will be named the national winner of the contest. The competition aims to showcase creative and artistic talents of students while highlighting important issues and wishes for the future.
