Chairman of SK Group holds meeting with Amazon and Intel CEOs – PUNE.NEWS


SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won recently traveled to the United States to meet with top executives from global tech companies, including Amazon and Intel, to discuss expanding collaboration in the artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductor industry. During his visit, Chey met with Amazon CEO Andy Jassy to explore opportunities for cooperation in the AI chip sector, as Amazon has recently unveiled its own AI chips, Trainium and Inferentia. SK Group’s flagship company, SK Hynix, is a key player in the HBM market, with Amazon being one of its customers for high-bandwidth memory.

Additionally, Chey also held talks with Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger to celebrate their companies’ longstanding partnership and discuss future collaborations in the AI chip sector. SK Hynix has previously worked with Intel to develop advanced DRAM products for servers, showing their commitment to innovation and technology advancement.

In addition to meeting with Amazon and Intel, Chey also met with other tech leaders such as OpenAI’s Sam Altman and Microsoft’s Satya Nadella. SK Group has announced a reform plan to secure 80 trillion won by 2026 to increase investment in AI and semiconductors, as part of their efforts to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving tech industry.
