As an important step on the way to sustainable mobility technology, Stellantis has announced a collaboration with Amazon to use the global retailer’s web service technology in its vehicles. The deal will also enable the automaker to develop connected technologies and train next-generation software engineers.

The collaboration will bring the technology and services from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amazon Devices and Amazon Last Mile to Stellantis to accelerate connected and personalized experiences in the vehicle and thus help the automobile manufacturer to become a software-driven development and engineering company to develop. The two companies will develop software-based products and services that will be updated over-the-air (OTA).

Amazon’s technologies will be delivered to Stellantis’ new digital cabin platform, STLA SmartCockpit, and Stellantis will also adopt AWS as a cloud provider for vehicle platforms. Amazon will benefit from the collaboration by being the first commercial …
