CERT-In issues warning about security vulnerabilities in Google Pixel phones – immediate update required

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has identified new security vulnerabilities in Google Pixel phones that can be exploited by remote attackers. These flaws exist in various subcomponents of Pixel devices such as Exynos RIL, Modem, Fingerprint Sensor, and more, allowing attackers to gain access to sensitive information and potentially carry out denial of service attacks. Affected devices include Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6, and others.

Google has responded to the security issue by releasing a security patch with the June 2024 update, which users can install by going to Settings >> System >> System Update. Along with the security fix, the update brings new features to Pixel devices such as camera improvements and native caller ID. For example, the updated Pixel camera can now automatically identify the best moment for a photo in HDR+ mode, saving users time by capturing the perfect shot in one go.

Additionally, the June 2024 Pixel update introduces Gemini Nano AI (beta) features to the Pixel 8 and 8a models. Users can stay informed about new releases, device reviews, apps, cybersecurity, and more by visiting DH technology for the latest news and updates in the world of personal technology.
