CEO of Epic Games: It makes no sense to call games made with AI

Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games, says it “makes no sense” for game stores to label titles made with AI, as “AI will be involved in almost all future productions.”

Sweeney responded to a tweet from Matt Workman in which he argued: “Steam and all digital marketplaces need to shed the ‘Made with AI’ label because it no longer matters.” He added: “The only reason ‘marketplaces’ use this label is because they sell to artists who initially raise a stink. But it already looks ridiculous and is unenforceable. And guess what kind of system they use to detect IP infringement.”

“Agreed,” Sweeney tweeted, but acknowledged that “the AI ​​tag is relevant for art exhibitions for authorship disclosure and for digital content licensing marketplaces where buyers need to understand the rights situation.”
