Boteju is currently Group Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Lloyds Banking Group in London, where he oversees AI, data and machine learning. Under his leadership, Lloyds launched more than 50 generative AI projects and improved its position in the Evident AI Index 2025 by 12 places. Its team consists of over 2,000 professionals responsible for data-driven transformation initiatives.
Boteju’s appointment to the CBA marks his return to Australia after 15 years overseas. Before joining Lloyds in 2021, he worked in senior roles at Standard Chartered and HSBC in Singapore and Hong Kong, gaining more than 25 years’ experience in data science, analytics and organizational transformation.
