Canva snaps up two AI startups in big payday for Blackbird

Canva has acquired two local artificial intelligence companies to bolster its capabilities ahead of a possible stock market listing.

The purchase of Simtheory and Ortto brings to eight the number of AI companies the design software giant has acquired for more than $400 million since 2024. Canva was last valued at $42 billion ($60 billion).
