Call of Duty: war zone 2.0 has gained over 25 million players in just five days.
Revealed by the official Call of Duty Twitter account on November 21st, Warzone 2.0 has had an incredibly strong start to life. The latest release in the Call of Duty franchise, which has surpassed 25 million players since launch in less than a week, is an impressive number for battle royale follow-up.

In fact, Warzone 2.0 appears to be moving at the same pace that the original Warzone set in 2020. In just three days after launching in March 2020, Warzone gained 15 million players worldwide across all platforms. That’s an average of five million new players per day that Warzone 2.0 hits after five days of general release.

However, Warzone 2.0 might have a hard time keeping up with the original game from now on. The first battle royale game in the Call of Duty franchise pulled it off beautifully 50 million players (opens in new tab) in its first month from launch, which is an absolutely colossal number that any game would realistically struggle to match.
At least so far, Warzone 2.0 has had an interesting start in life. The new game comes with DMZ mode known as “Escape from the Tarkov killer‘ ahead of launch, and it seems players have been struggling to get to grips with the pace and difficulty of the new mode so far, with many easily gunned down by NPCs.
The new game also struggles with age-old bugs, including the return of the infamous Superman bugand the invisibility bug. It’s early days for the sequel, but there’s no doubt that it managed to turn an audience away from the original game.
