Bunnings is set to become one of the first Australian retailers to sell to customers via Google AI mode, with the feature set to be activated in the next two weeks.
Managing director Michael Schneider revealed the retailer’s participation at a strategy day last week.
It builds on Bunnings’ broader use of AI and agent trading, which includes a Google Gemini-powered agent assistant called Buddy.
Retailers have generally spent this year building a presence in large voice models and chat interfaces that enable easy user access and interaction.
