Some Destiny 2 players were able to play with people on other platforms after developer Bungie accidentally turned the feature on. Bungie previously said that crossplay would come in fall 2021 for every platform the game is available on, including PC, PS4 / 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S, and Google Stadia.
The edgeTom Warren noticed that the crossplay feature went live and could load a game with players on both PC and Stadia.
However, Bungie Community Manager Cozmo confirmed that crossplay shouldn’t have started yet. “We are seeing reports that some players are getting a glimpse of crossplay,” he wrote in one Tweet. “This is not meant to be live yet and is not representative of the entire experience. We’ll be implementing a fix later this week to remove public access, but in the meantime, you’re welcome to participate. “
Bungie just started today Fate 2‘s latest seasonal update, Season of the splicerthat brings the usual array of new content and activities. It’s unfortunate that crossplay appears to have been an accidental ingestion – especially when you have one Stadia players who need more people to take part in their games – but right now it sounds like you could try it out a little longer.
