Ahead of the adoption of the 2021-22 budget on Tuesday, the federal government announced a new strategy for the digital economy, which it describes as investing in the framework, infrastructure and incentives for the Australian digital economy to grow.
The strategy, which costs just under AU $ 1 billion, is to include work on “emerging aviation technologies”.
The government will invest AU $ 32.6 million in an emerging aviation technology partnerships program over two years to “support the use of emerging aviation technologies to meet the priority needs of community, mobility and cargo in the Australia region” .
The program calls for the government to work with industry to study technologies such as electric motors, drones, and vertical vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
