VMware announced an agreement with BT on Monday to give multinational customers more choice and flexibility in adopting a cloud-first approach to networking, security and edge computing.
Under the terms of the agreement, BT will offer its customers VMware Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) as a global managed service that combines BT’s extensive network capabilities and deep security expertise with VMware technology. The launch of the BT managed service builds on the strong partnership between the companies. BT already offers a managed service based on VMware SD-WAN.
The new managed service will help customers accelerate their digital transformation by providing employees anywhere with flexible, secure and reliable access to cloud-based applications and services, delivered on public and private clouds, SaaS or at the enterprise edge. It will support the adoption of the latest digital technologies and working styles, including IoT and hybrid working.
