The blue screen of death, often referred to by the acronym BSOD, has been an undesirable companion to Windows users for three decades – ever since Microsoft introduced it in Windows 3.0 in 1990.

When a fatal error prevents Windows from working it will show a blue screen detailing what happened and driving users insane as it usually shows up at the worst possible moment.
