Broadcom AVGO is in early discussions to arrange more than $50B in debt financing to help OpenAI (OPENAI) fund purchases of custom artificial intelligence chips the two companies are jointly developing, according to reports from Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal.

The financing is designed to help OpenAI bridge the timing gap between paying upfront for hardware and generating revenue from its compute deployments, the report added.
The capital will support Broadcom and OpenAI’s custom silicon partnership, announced in October 2025, which aims to deploy 10 gigawatts of AI accelerators by late 2029.
