Broadcom advances open ecosystem for VMware cloud foundation

Broadcom Inc. announced updates to the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) ecosystem intended to enable customers to build, connect, protect, and extend private clouds. Broadcom says these changes deliver a private cloud platform that is adaptable across infrastructure layers, allowing customers to use preferred data-center and edge hardware, open networking constructs, and open-source technologies for on-prem and hosted private cloud environments, while providing partners additional opportunities to integrate with VCF.

Paul Turner, Chief Product Officer, VMware Cloud Foundation Division, Broadcom, said the move supports organizations’ private cloud deployments by offering a consistent operating model from data centers to the edge and by promoting an open VCF ecosystem that aligns with different environment requirements.
