TIME magazine named “the architects of AI” its 2025 Person of the Year, citing the tremendous technological advances the artificial intelligence industry has made in ushering in the age of “thinking machines.”
The Person of the Year issue features a cover story that examines how AI has changed the world in new and “sometimes frightening ways” over the past year.
It includes interviews with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, whose chips are powering the AI boom, and AI investors like SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son.
It also examines troubling aspects of AI, such as the death of a 16-year-old Californian who took his own life after speaking to a chatbot, leading his parents to sue ChatGPT maker OpenAI.
