The Association of Illustrators (AOI), together with four leading creator-led organizations, today released an important new report calling for urgent action on generative AI and the rights of creators.
Titled Brave New World? Justice for Creators in the Age of GenAI is one of the most comprehensive studies to date of how unregulated AI is changing creative work in the UK, and not for the better.
Based on insights from more than 10,000 creatives across illustration, writing, music, photography and performance, it paints a sobering picture of an industry that is already feeling the impact. Creative professions are disappearing. Commissions will be eliminated. Work is scraped without permission. Many creatives wonder whether their careers will be sustainable.
