Users trying to play games linked to Activision Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher tonight may have encountered server issues. This is due to a DDoS attack on the service.

In a number of Social media posts, the company said it was aware of the ongoing issues before declaring its service was under attack.

For some users, the problem has prevented them from fully launching the Battle.net launcher while others are playing call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and other Blizzard games have encountered various connectivity issues, including being banned from the game.

A distributed denial of service attack, commonly known as DDoS, is a malicious tactic that involves sending an overload of requests to a service to make it function erratically.

As of now, Blizzard has not yet announced a schedule for when the issue will be resolved.
