The Biden government imposed sanctions on six Russian tech companies for helping the country’s intelligence services conduct malicious cyber activities, including the SolarWinds hack.

The private and state-owned companies were accused by the US Treasury Department on Thursday of facilitating the cyber activities of Russian intelligence agencies. The six companies support the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), the Main Intelligence Directive (GRU) and the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) by providing expertise, developing tools and infrastructure, and enabling malicious cyberattacks.
