The Bank of England has tripled its spending on its Oracle systems integrator to migrate business applications to the cloud.
The British central bank has been planning the move since 2020 and recently Procurement note announced that it has increased the financial commitment with Oracle version 1 implementation partner to £21.5m, after initially tendering the contract for £7m.
According to the official documents, Version 1 was tasked with “supporting the implementation of technical and change management aspects of the Oracle Cloud implementation and business change program.”
The latest increase is due to a change to the bank’s Application Management Services contract, which includes “the need for additional work, services or supplies” that were “not included in the original procurement,” the notice said.
