Amazon Web Services (AWS) touts telecommunications companies at MWC 2021 event this week and explains all the services it can offer service providers.
Ishwar Parulkar, CTO for Telecommunications at AWS, discussed the cloud provider’s virtualization stack, in-house silicon and its edge computing technologies.
He said network function virtualization (NFV) for telecommunications data centers requires a very powerful virtualization stack. “NFV needs a virtualization system that is comparable to hardware routers that can handle very fast packet processing,” said Parulkar. “At AWS, we build our service on the basis of the nitro stack.”
