SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE) – Today, Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) company, announced that it will open an infrastructure region in Israel in the first half of 2023. The AWS Israel (Tel Aviv) Region will enable even more developers, startups and businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and nonprofits to run their applications and serve end users from data centers in Israel. In addition, the Israeli government announced that it has selected AWS as its primary cloud provider under the “Nimbus” contract for government ministries and subsidiaries. The Nimbus framework will deliver cloud services to Israeli government ministries, including local communities, state-owned companies and public sector organizations, to accelerate digital transformation.
