The AWS Mainframe Modernization Service now offers enhanced control over managed runtime environments for modernized mainframe applications. Customers using the AWS Mainframe Modernization Automated Refactor with AWS Blu Age can now configure segregated storage with specific access controls for each modernized application using the new Elastic File System (EFS) access point configuration feature. This added security measure can benefit modernized applications in various scenarios.
For customers utilizing the AWS Mainframe Modernization Replatform with Micro Focus, new capabilities have been introduced to restart batch jobs either from the beginning or a specific execution step. Administrators can now configure JES program paths, system procedure library locations, and batch aliases for greater flexibility. These new features allow for customizable environment variables that enable advanced configurations like character set selection and data set location. These enhancements provide more control and flexibility over managed runtimes and are especially valuable for deploying new utilities.
These new capabilities are already available in all AWS Regions where the AWS Mainframe Modernization managed runtime is in use. For further details, please refer to the AWS Mainframe Modernization product and documentation pages.
