AWS License Manager now integrates with Red Hat Subscription Manager (RHSM) to provide improved visibility into Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) usage on Amazon EC2. This integration allows users to effectively manage cost optimization and compliance for their RHEL instances on AWS. The new feature enables License Manager to track RHEL instances on Amazon EC2 launched from both AWS AMIs and custom RHEL images. This will help users discover instances and subscriptions in use on AWS, and avoid double payment cases where an instance has subscriptions from both AWS and Red Hat assigned to it. The feature is available on all AWS Regions where License Manager is supported. To begin using this feature, users can access the AWS License Manager console and navigate to the Linux Subscriptions tab. First-time users will need to select the regions from which they want Linux subscription data to be collected and configure linking with AWS Organizations for a cross-account view. Once this is set up, users will be prompted to provide their RHSM API token to complete the integration. More information can be found in the Linux Subscriptions user guide in AWS License Manager.
