Amazon Web Services announced the launch of its first accelerator for startups focused on clean tech innovation.
AWS says that the startups that are wanted on board, “Working with clean technology for energy storage, monitoring, use and storage of carbon (CCUS), seismic activity, hydrogen generation for energy, smart grid, geothermal optimization, materials science and other fields. “
Shane Owenby, Vice President of Energy at AWS, said the Clean Energy Accelerator follows Amazon’s commitment to be net-zero carbon by 2040.
“This commitment requires innovation from large, established organizations to startups across the energy industry, ”says Owenby.
“That’s why we’re helping clean tech founders accelerate the delivery of their innovations through programs like the AWS Clean Energy Accelerator.”
