AWS is now supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Amazon WorkSpaces



AWS has introduced support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux on Amazon WorkSpaces Personal. This OS comes with security features to ensure secure virtual desktop operations, increase agility, and reduce costs. Customers now have the option to choose from a wider range of operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Desktop, Amazon Linux 2, and Microsoft Windows.

By using Red Hat Enterprise Linux on WorkSpaces Personal, IT organizations can provide a consistent development environment for developers and offer on-demand access to Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments for power users such as engineers and data scientists. This allows users to easily manage instances through the AWS console without the need for capacity planning or license management.

WorkSpaces Personal offers various high-performance, license-included, and fully-managed virtual desktop packages, allowing organizations to pay for only the resources they need. Red Hat Enterprise Linux on WorkSpaces Personal is available in all AWS Regions where WorkSpaces Personal is offered except for AWS China regions. Users will be charged either hourly or monthly for their virtual desktops.

To start using Red Hat Enterprise Linux on WorkSpaces Personal, log in to the AWS Management Console, navigate to the WorkSpaces service, and follow the instructions in the Amazon WorkSpaces Administration Guide.
