AWS introduces seamless integration between Amazon DocumentDB and Amazon OpenSearch Service, eliminating the need for ETL processes.

Amazon DocumentDB now offers zero-ETL integration with Amazon OpenSearch Service, allowing customers to access advanced search features like fuzzy search, cross-collection search, and multilingual search on their Amazon DocumentDB documents through the OpenSearch API. This integration eliminates the need for customers to write custom code for data extraction, transformation, and loading, making data synchronization a seamless process with just a few clicks on the AWS console. By leveraging Amazon OpenSearch Ingestion, data from Amazon DocumentDB collections can be synchronized with Amazon OpenSearch Service, enhancing text search and vector search capabilities within Amazon DocumentDB for JSON-based documents.

Customers can benefit from Amazon OpenSearch Ingestion’s ability to automatically understand data formats in Amazon DocumentDB collections and map the data to index mapping templates in Amazon OpenSearch Service, resulting in optimized search results. Data synchronization can be performed across multiple Amazon DocumentDB collections through multiple pipelines within an Amazon OpenSearch managed cluster or a serverless collection, enabling comprehensive insights across various applications.

This integrated solution is now available in 13 regions, including US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Europe (Ireland), Europe (London), Europe (Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), and Canada (Central). By expanding accessibility to these regions, Amazon DocumentDB users can take advantage of enhanced search capabilities and improved data synchronization through Amazon OpenSearch Service.
