Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched AWS Application Studio, a new service powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that allows users to build applications using natural language. Users can describe the app they want, its functionality, and data sources to integrate with, and the service will create the app in just a few minutes. The App Studio is currently in preview in Oregon and offers a point-and-click interface for users to modify the apps created. It also features an AI-powered generative assistant for immediate guidance on app usage. The applications created are secure and fully managed by AWS.

According to Dilip Kumar, AWS vice president of applications, the App Studio opens up application development to a wider range of developers and enables them to build enterprise-grade applications quickly. The service is designed for technical professionals without software development skills, including IT project managers, data engineers, and enterprise architects. Deloitte, which uses App Studio, has found that its employees can create applications in minutes using the service.

In the first quarter, Amazon’s focus on AI drove growth with the introduction of several new Generative AI products and services. AWS recently made its AI-powered generative assistants, Amazon Q Developer, and Amazon Q Business, generally available for software development and business decision-making. The introduction of App Studio reflects Amazon’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation.

Overall, AWS Application Studio provides a user-friendly platform for creating applications using natural language descriptions. It simplifies the app development process for technical professionals, allowing them to quickly bring their ideas to life without needing software development skills. This service aligns with Amazon’s strategic focus on AI and its dedication to providing innovative solutions for its customers.
