The call to subsidize US $ 50 billion in government chip manufacturing efforts was backed by a new coalition of semiconductor companies, IT vendors, and other companies in a narrow orbit of chip makers like Intel, AMD, and Samsung are located.
The Semiconductors in America Coalition on Tuesday called on US Congressmen to provide $ 50 billion in incentives and research initiatives for domestic semiconductor manufacturing under the CHIPS for America Act, approved earlier this year. The new group builds on calls from the Semiconductor Industry Association and President Joe Biden to fund the move with $ 50 billion.
