CJ Moses becomes Amazon Web Services’ new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) as Stephen Schmidt leaves this role to become CISO of parent company Amazon.com.
Moses, who has worked for AWS for more than 14 years, has been Deputy CISO and Vice President for Security Technology since 2016, according to his LinkedIn page. From March 2010 to October 2012, he was also Deputy CISO of AWS before becoming General Manager of the AWS Government Cloud. Moses will continue to report to Schmidt in his new role.
AWS announced the dates internally on Monday.
Prior to joining AWS in 2007 as Senior Management Virtual Private Cloud, Moses served for nearly four years as assistant director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation on a team that performed technical investigative analyzes using software and hardware.
