AWS Control Tower is now available in the AWS Canada West (Calgary) Region, bringing the total to 29 regions and AWS GovCloud (US) regions. This service offers an efficient way to establish and oversee a secure, multi-account AWS setting. By coordinating various AWS services while upholding security and compliance requirements, AWS Control Tower simplifies the AWS user experience. Users can create a multi-account AWS setting within 30 minutes, manage current or new account configurations, monitor compliance status, and apply controls on a larger scale.
For those unfamiliar with AWS Control Tower, starting in any of the supported regions allows for the creation and management of a multi-account environment. Existing users looking to expand governance capabilities to the newly added region can integrate AWS Control Tower Landing Zone API or go to the settings page on the dashboard to select regions and update the target zone. Updating all accounts under AWS Control Tower governance extends this oversight to every account, OU, and landing zone in the new regions.
