AWS CloudShell adds support for Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) on AWS platform

Today, AWS has made an announcement regarding the general availability of Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) support for AWS CloudShell. This new feature allows users to create CloudShell environments within a VPC, enabling secure usage of CloudShell alongside other resources in the same subnet without the need for extra network configuration. Previously, there was no way to control network flow to the Internet with CloudShell, but this release addresses that issue by enabling users to securely launch CloudShell in their VPC and access resources within it.

AWS CloudShell is a web-based shell that simplifies the management, exploration, and interaction with AWS resources in a secure manner. It comes pre-authenticated with console credentials and includes common development tools, eliminating the need for local installation or setup. Users can utilize CloudShell to run scripts with the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI), create infrastructure with the AWS Cloud Development Kit (AWS CDK), experiment with AWS service APIs using the AWS SDKs, and employ various other tools to enhance productivity. For more information on VPC connectivity in AWS CloudShell, users can refer to the official documentation provided by AWS.
