AWS recently announced updates to Amazon Lex, a service for creating conversational interfaces into any application using voice and text. The service now has an expanded management console and new V2 APIs, including continuous streaming capabilities. According to an AWS News blog, developers can now create and manage bots using the new management console and APIs. The expanded console and new APIs provide three main benefits:
- First, developers can add a new language to a bot at any time and manage all languages as a single resource throughout the design, test, and deployment lifecycle. In addition, they can quickly switch between different languages via the console to compare and refine their conversations.
- Second, the new Lex console and V2 APIs provide a simple information architecture with bot intentions and slot types limited to a specific language.
